Diabetic patients must take a blood sample a few times a day. This is an unpleasant operation for the patient and does not accurately monitor the continuously changing blood glucose levels that might lead to hypo- or hyperglycemic conditions.

 

Minimally invasive glucose sensors that provide continuous monitoring are being developed in AVLabs. The optical glucose sensor concept developed provides a promising strategy for sensing glucose.
