Many processes are known for the recovery of various metals and metal oxides from ores. The majority of processes for this recovery from ores involve digestion of the ore in a mineral acid, such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, to remove at least one of the element values from the ore.

 

In such processes, however, the purity of the element produced is low, and hence further purification procedures may be required to produce a raw material grade product, which adds considerably to the cost. AVLabs is developing further purification procedures and techniques that are environmentally safe without extensive procedures to treat various solutions and solids obtained.
